Raising children

Raising children in a non Muslim environment is quite challenging but it has some benefits too...

1. They don't take being a Muslim for granted just because they were born as a Muslim. So they don't judge people as a kafir just because they aren't Muslims yet. We try to teach them how to be good Muslims and invite people to the path of Allah by being a good example to create a positive name for Islam.
2. It motivates us as a parent to learn more and practice the religion properly, because we are the only ones who can teach them about Islam here. We only have two choices either we introduce them to islam or not at all.
3. They will ask a lot of questions, specifically challenging ones, which requires your patience so that you can answer wisely and correctly. So they learn to practice being a Muslim with knowledge and understanding.

Off course there is some bumpy roads on the journey. But we consider those unpleasant bumps as a test. Because our purpose is to stay on the path of Allah till the end of our life.

Some people run, some people walk fast but some people walk very slow on the path to Allah but we must respect and appreciate them. As long as they keep trying to stay on the right path.

We remind ourselves and our children about QS Ali Imran 3:102:
"O you who believe! Fear Allah (by doing all that He has ordered and by abstaining from all that He has forbidden) as He should be feared. And do not die unless you are Muslims (with complete submission to Allah)."
